This marks the 25th straight season that Gonzaga has been ranked in the preseason Associated Press Poll.
Gonzaga joins Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and North Carolina as the only programs to appear in each of
the last 16 preseason AP Polls. The Zags have appeared in 161 of the last 175 AP Polls (92 percent) since the start of the 2016 season, ranking only behind Kansas’s 169 appearances.
Gonzaga has matchups with the preseason AP Poll’s No. 23 Creighton, No. 15 Alabama, No. 9 Kentucky, and No. 12 UCLA. No. 27 Oregon received 98 votes, No. 42 Saint Mary’s with two votes. The Zags will most likely play another ranked adversary in the Las Vegas Players Era Festival in November.
The Zags start out the 2025-26 season ranked No. 8 on KenPom (the same spot they ended at for the 2024-25 season). Gonzaga has the No. 6-best offensive ranking at 124.7, the No. 29-best defensive rating at 96.7.
Saint Mary’s is ranked No. 55 overall, and San Francisco is at No. 84 (per KenPom).
