We are back with another episode of “Before the Roar,” where Meko Scott and I dive into the final preseason game of 2026, as well as discuss the “Rivalry” jerseys the Detroit Lions dropped this week. In case you missed the aforementioned jersey news, here is the video the Lions released to debut the new look.I don’t hate them, nor do I love them. Maybe it’s because I think the current three jerseys are all elite, and I want to see the team in those as much as possible. I love the originals, especially
at home in the blue jerseys with the silver pants.
After touching on the jersey news for a bit, we pivot into what is going to be an interesting final week of training camp for the Lions. While a large portion of the roster is likely set in stone, there are still a lot of decisions to be made ahead of cut-down day on Sunday. The team will practice on Wednesday, again on Thursday, and will play their final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. During that span, there are a handful of players who will need to make an impact if they want to stick on the active roster, or in some cases—the practice squad.
In no specific order, there are tight battles in the defensive line, linebacker, cornerback, and wide receiver rooms. On top of that, the coaching staff also has some decisions to make along the offensive line. It was an interesting discussion ahead of what is going to be a busy week of NFL news. You can listen to the episode wherever you get your podcasts, as well as watch over on the Pride of Detroit YouTube Channel.
