Since joining the New Orleans Saints in 2020 as an undrafted free agent, tight end Juwan Johnson has worked relentlessly to make a name for himself and carve out playing time on an NFL roster. The veteran just wrapped his sixth year in the league, arguably his best, and will hope to build on that progress in 2026.
Johnson’s growth and production have steadily increased each year in the league, aside from 2023, in which he missed four games due to a calf injury. He bounced back and played all 17 games in each of
the previous two seasons.
The 6’4” pass catcher from Oregon recently signed a three-year extension with New Orleans and seemingly flourished in the first year under the guidance of head coach Kellen Moore. If the Saints are able to add a couple of weapons to pair alongside Johnson, it may prove just enough to give Johnson a springboard to really explode and perform as a top TE in the NFL.
Quarterback Tyler Shough has made note of how important Johnson’s play on the field and leadership off of it helped him with confidence and execution in his rookie campaign. Juwan grew as a person and as a player, leading to him having career bests statistically.
