Newcastle United’s preparations for the 2026-27 campaign will begin next month as Eddie Howe’s squad returns to work after a summer in which major changes are expected.
The club announced that players will report for pre-season training at The KNOX on Monday, July 13, before playing a behind-closed-doors friendly against Darlington at the end of the first week.
“Newcastle United will play three domestic friendlies in July before heading to Spain for a week-long training camp,” the club announced.
Real action will start for Newcastle when they play their first public friendly, against Gateshead, at Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday, July 25.
Championship side Bristol City will host Newcastle at Ashton Gate on Wednesday, July 29.
The squad will then travel to south-east Spain for a training camp that ends with a Trofeu Taronja fixture against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium on Saturday.
Newcastle had already announced a friendly against Everton that will take place at Murrayfield in Edinburgh on Wednesday, August 12.
The club added that plans for the final weekend of pre-season at St. James’ Park will be confirmed later, as it’s been the case in the past few years.
