What is the story about?
According to Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette, the Denver Broncos have cut tight end Lucas Krull today.
Krull originally signed to Denver’s practice squad in August 2023 after being waived by the New Orleans Saints. One of those early Saints’ players that Sean Payton targeted. He then re-signed as a free agent this past March.
He had a fairly quiet training camp and that’s not what you want to hear when a guy is battling for a roster spot. Krull has faced strong
competition this offseason from two tight end draft picks by Denver in Justin Joly and Dallen Bently – plus throw in last year’s seventh-round pick Caleb Lohner and you have a crowded room there.
It will be interesting to see if Krull ends up on the 16-man practice squad.
