Happy Thanksgiving. I’m Thankful that there is another game today. 5:00 Eastern. I should have said no to tennis but I should be back home minutes before game time.
The roof will be open for today’s game.
And Nathan Lukes will likely be available to play. They say there is no fracture, so depending on how sore he is, he should be able to go. Very good news. It looked bad.
And George Springer’s home run moved him into third all-time for playoff home runs. He has 21. Bernie Williams has 22, Kyle Schwarber 23. The top two are Manny Ramirez, 29 and Jose Altuve (that one should have an asterisk), 27.
George, if you want to take first place this post-season, I’d be ok with that.
The offense had a bad night, but they didn’t strikeout much, just four strikeouts. And they had some hard hit balls:
- George’s home run was the hardest hit of the day, 110.7 mph.
- Vlad’s groundout: 109.4.
- Vlad’s lineout: 107.2.
- Daulton Varsho’s lineout: 102.5.
- Davis Schneider’s flyout: 102.5.
- Anthony Santander’s single: 100.1
And a bunch of outs hit in the 90s.
So I’m not too worried about the offense. I’m hoping they avoid some gloves today with the hard hits.
However, the Mariners then had six innings with 8 or fewer pitches.
And it was the first time this year that the Jays were hitless after the third inning.
Anyway, today is a new day and hopefully a better result.
Arden Zwelling had a bunch of trivia on yesterday’s game:
