NFL officials are fed up with a certain celebration from a few Detroit Lions players on offense.
On the St. Brown Podcast, Amon-Ra said refs for their recent matchup against the Los Angeles Rams took issue
with their first drive celebration—mimicking picking their nose and flicking the booger away, while mimicking a first down pose.
Yes, really.
St. Brown says he does it, Jahmyr Gibbs does it, and Jameson Williams does it.
“We do it the first drive. Our receiver coach comes (over) after the first drive, ‘Hey man, ref said you guys can’t do that no more.’ I’m like, what the f***,” St. Brown said on his podcast.
He went on to wonder — why is that so bad?
“I want to know. NFL, why can’t I dig in my nose and flick it? There’s no way. What is bad about that? Is that disrespectful… Is that derogatory?”
His brother, Equanimeous St. Brown, replied with a simple answer: “They’re anti-fun.”
You can hear St. Brown talk about it more—with videos of each celebration—in his chat with Kay Adams below. He also reveals which Lions defender actually came up with the idea.
And onto the rest of your notes.
- A few Lions were asked which teammates they’d most want to find the North Pole with, and frankly anyone who doesn’t pick Eagle Scout David Montgomery is foolish.
- Knowing how nice these guys are, I feel like a few of these wishes may actually get granted.
- If you didn’t know already, special teams coordinator Dave Fipp has a super cool hobby.
- So pretty! A behind-the-scenes look at crews putting up the giant Christmas tree at Ford Field.
