The Buffalo Bills took down the mighty Baltimore Ravens last weekend, pulling off an unbelievable comeback after being down 15 points with under five minutes left to play in regulation. Reigning NFL MVP quarterback Josh Allen owned the fourth quarter, playing a brand of football that made it seem as if he were an adult against kids in a pickup game.
Allen proved unstoppable, and that no deficit should be considered safe against him and the Bills in 2025. Buffalo’s defense though? That’s another story,
of course, and one that necessitated Allen’s hero adventure in the first place.
Heading into this afternoon’s game against the New York Jets seemed like the perfect time to reveal the results of our latest fan confidence poll. Recall that ahead of the season opener, just 58% of Rumblings voted with confidence about the team’s direction. Have things changed? They have, but not as much as one might expect.
Bills Mafia are uneasy at the moment. That defensive effort was almost nonexistent apart from a few key plays, made by rookie cornerback Dorian Strong to keep running back Derrick Henry out of the end zone, defensive tackle Ed Oliver to force a turnover late, and cornerback Christian Benford to stop a key conversion by Baltimore’s offense.
Despite the finish, and couple of the Bills’ key defensive players coming up huge, just 63% of Bills fans who voted in our poll are confident in the direction of this team. I’m apt to believe there’s more to this feeling than just living in the moment. It may instead be true that voters are concerned about the past, and worried about the future — that is, the playoffs. Results each week may prove surprisingly low until Buffalo makes proper noise in the biggest playoff game.

As for Jets fans? The grass is pretty green where Gang Green stands.

In national polls, the Bills’ win over the Ravens was seen as the best game in Week 1. Who can argue with that sentiment?
