Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Kansas City Royals fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Earlier this week, we posed the question of which position group on the roster worried you the most. The answers were unequivocal.
65% of you felt that the relief pitching was a big problem for the team. Considering the question went up the day following a game in which
the bullpen was overtaxed and badly exposed against the Cleveland Guardians, that probably shouldn’t be a surprise.
I do wonder how the middle results would have changed if we had asked this question this morning instead of Thursday, because Bobby Witt Jr. has been on a tear for a few days now, and Maikel Garcia hasn’t stopped hitting the ball since the WBC. Meanwhile, Kyle Isbel and Jac Caglianone have both cooled a bit from their red-hot starts. Would you be more concerned about the outfield now?
No one is worried at all about the starting pitching, even after Cole Ragans injured his hand in Thursday’s start. That’s reasonable, as Anne Rogers has reported that Cole Ragans feels fine and intends to make his next start unimpeded.
