Barcelona defender Hector Fort looks set to leave the club shortly to join La Liga side Real Sociedad.
Fort has been told he’s surplus to requirements this season and is set to continue his career away from Camp Nou.
Real Sociedad are now set to sign the youngster in transfer worth €8 million. Barcelona will also hold a 50% sell-on clause and a buy-back clause set at €20m, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Fort had been linked with Borussia Dortmund but it seems like he’s going to stay in Spain instead and head to the Basque Country.
The 20-year-old spent last season at Elche on loan before returning to Barcelona but is now set to leave on a permanent transfer.
Fort has been at Barcelona since arriving from PB Anguera in time for the 2013/14 season and has gone right through the ranks and into the first team.
He made his debut in the 2023-24 season but hasn’t been able to cement a place in the senior squad and will now look to continue his career elsewhere.
