- In case you missed it, the biggest news from yesterday is that the league is officially implementing the automated ball-strike challenge system in the majors next year.
- Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas will miss the rest of the season after undergoing foot surgery.
- Astros left-hander Brandon Walter underwent Tommy John surgery, taking him out for all of 2026.
- Tyler Megill of the Mets will also miss the entire 2026 season after going under the knife for TJ.
- With the Rangers essentially out of the playoff picture, neither Corey Seager nor Marcus Semien will attempt to return to action this season. Both have been on the IL since August.
