Natalia Silva and Wang Cong are ready to get to work after sharing an intense faceoff to close out the UFC 332 pre-fight press conference on Thursday.
The flyweights are battling for the vacant title after incumbent champion Valentina Shevchenko suffered an injury that forced her to relinquish the belt. Now Silva and Wang have a chance to wrap gold around their waist come Saturday night.
During the press conference, Wang actually held Silva’s feet to the fire for not doing a better job to help here
sell the fight as they prepare for the main event. Wang even went as far as writing a note to Silva in hopes they could spice things up before Saturday.
“I had my plan let’s heat up the faceoff for the [ceremonial weigh-ins] but she didn’t take a look at it,” Wang said during the press conference. “We need to bring the money to the show. We need make people hyped. She should do that.”
For her part, Silva is sticking to business and only worrying about the fight itself.
“If she wants to get cute, she can get cute by herself,” Silva said. “It doesn’t matter. I’m not here to play. This is my dream, I’m here to fight. I’m here to enjoy it.”
