Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer had one of those games that he probably would like to forget during the team’s 5-4 loss to Paris Saint-Germain — zero saves and five goals conceded.
That will not weigh down Neuer or his mates, though. The Bayern Munich captain is expecting a big response next week when PSG visits the Allianz Arena for the second leg of the tie.
“Of course conceding five goals is annoying for any defense and any goalkeeper. You saw the goals. It was difficult to stop any of them.
I was very close twice where I might have gotten a touch. But we really showed character and came back well. We could even have made it 5-5. We know we have a home game next week, and that we have everything in our own hands. Everything is still possible,” said Neuer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
With just a one-goal deficit, Bayern Munich will be in a good position to take the match over in front its home crowd. Now, the team just needs to figure out a way to stop that PSG attack to make it happen.
