The results are in, Rumblers! Following Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, we asked our readers to weigh in with their thoughts about cumulative effect of moves the Buffalo Bills made in Round 1 to trade down three separate times and out of the first round altogether.
As you can imagine, there are a fair number of outcomes to consider how someone might respond to yet another draft where (now president of football operations and) general manager Brandon Beane saw fit to pass on making a selection in Round
1. That means passing on fifth-year options for players (admittedly not always important), and potentially missing out on the best talent available.
Sure, there are positions where the best talent isn’t even going to sniff a starting spot on Buffalo’s roster. Other positions with perceived long-term needs (punter, for example), make no sense to target early or often. So with that, looking at the work Beane and company did to move back might just take on a different view.
The truth is that the Bills picked up two extra picks (from 7 original slots to now 9) in this year’s draft and only had to move back a total of nine spots in the grand scheme of things. They now get to play ball in Round 2, and they moved up in Round 3. In fact, five of their nine current picks take place within the first four selections of any round.
So how did Rumblers readers react? The votes were mostly positive, with 58% of voters leading the way in giving Buffalo an “A” for their handiwork. Quite a bit behind in second place were the 30% of votes handing out a “B” grade for the trades Beane made. Bringing up the rear were the 10% of votes that landed on a grade of “C” (6%), “D” (2%), or “F” (2%).
Remember, the Bills may not be done yet trading around the board in this year’s draft!
Entering Round 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft, the trades leveraged currently leave the Buffalo Bills with the third-best odds (+1000) with FanDuel Sportsbook to win Super Bowl LXI at the end of the 2026 NFL season.
