Deiveson Figueiredo was involved in a car accident Thursday in Belem, Brazil, that left Land Rover destroyed after the fighter’s vehicle was allegedly sideswiped by another car.
The former UFC flyweight
champion posted a video on social media revealing he was driving his car at the Quintino Bocaiuva street in Belem “when a woman at high speed, apparently trying to flee, came out of a side street called Caripuna and hit the side of my vehicle, causing the car I was in to roll over several times.”
“I was alone in the car,” Figueiredo told MMA Fighting. “My car is bulletproof and thank God nothing happened to me.”

Figueiredo, 25-5-1 as a professional fighter, recently won a co-main event bout at UFC Rio over Montel Jackson, rebounding from back-to-back defeats to Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen. The UFC has yet to announce his next assignment.
