The Eagles are finally gearing up for their first training camp practice of 2026, but just ahead of the team taking the field, they announced that DE Jonathan Greenard was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.
The move was a bit of a surprise, but Eagles GM Howie Roseman spoke to reporters shortly after the news was announced and explained that Greenard suffered a pec strain while he was lifting. Roseman noted that they still expect him to be ready to go by Week 1, saying, “Not a long-term
injury, nothing to be concerned about.”
Greenard was the new veteran voice for a still-young group of edge rushers this offseason, and was brought in as a replacement of sorts for Jaelan Phillips. It’s unfortunate he’ll miss these training camp reps to build timing and instincts with his new teammates, but hopefully he’s back on the field soon — and thankfully he was able to participate in the rest of the team’s offseason program.
Some have wondered if Greenard on PUP leaves a roster spot open to get Brandon Graham back in the fold much earlier than they did last season, but Roseman wouldn’t talk about the conversations he has with his first-ever Eagles draft pick, only to say that they do and will continue to communicate.
