A week after falling to Juventus in a critical top-four clash, Roma finds itself in a familiar position: trailing the Old Lady in the standings. While the gap between the two clubs isn’t as wide as it was a decade ago, another loss to Juventus has further tightened Roma’s already thin margin for error as it chases a spot in next season’s Champions League—a race that will surely come down to the wire this spring.
With only a 10-point gap between third-place Napoli and eighth-place Lazio, we’ll surely
see several teams trade places at the top of the table over the next 21 rounds of play. Which makes every point worth its weight in gold… which makes today’s fixture against Daniele De Rossi and Genoa a classic trap game.
Genoa may be drifting above the relegation zone and should be an easy target for the Giallorossi, but when you factor in De Rossi’s unceremonious departure from the Roma bench last fall, the Roma Happened radar will be pinging like crazy.
The lineups are in, so let’s see if Roma can get back on track!
