Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats are still searching for their first commitment of the class of 2026, as high school basketball season gets ramped up across the country. In good shape with several players
towards the top of their board, we can now cross another name off the list of players that will end up in Lexington next season.
On Friday, 4-star guard Maximo Adams announced his commitment to North Carolina. He chose the Tar Heels over a final four that included UK alongside Texas and Michigan State. Joe Tipton of On3 and Rivals was the first to report the news.
Adams, a 6-7 and 205-pound small forward out of Chatsworth (CA), had an early connection to Kentucky as his brother played for Coach Pope at BYU several seasons ago. However, with the potential retention from the current roster and their positioning with several other players at the same position, this one quickly started trending towards the Tar Heels.
Now the BBN will need to turn its attention to Christian Collins and Tyran Stokes. Which player will come off the board first? Seems like it could be any moment for either.
