After weeks of teasers, we finally have the full uniform reveal of Texas A&M’s throwback uniforms they’ll wear this Saturday against the Florida Gators, honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Aggie
team that won the Southwest Conference.
A&M released the jerseys in September, but this is the first time we’ve seen the uniform in its entirety. Just like they original 1975 set, it features a white helmet with a throwback aTm logo and a gray facemask. The jersey features two stripes running from the collar to each sleeve, with no school name and block numbers. The pants are solid white, with no logos or stripes. In many ways, it reads as a stripped down version of the uniform A&M wore from 2012-2019 (which makes sense, given that this is the uniform set the Manziel-era uniforms were based on). This is also the first Adidas college football uniform to feature their vintage “trefoil” logo.
A&M has really diversified their uniform set this year, in fact this will be the 5th different helmet they’ve worn in just six games (with the standard maroon helmet being the only one worn twice). In addition to having their standard uniform set available in both maroon and white, they have their black uniform (worn last week against Mississippi State) and also the white “script Aggies” helmet which debuted against Notre Dame.
While many traditionalists may think this is overkill, you likely won’t find too many folks complaining as long as the team keeps winning.
