Barcelona reportedly sent scouts to watch Estoril defender Jordan Arnolin in action at the weekend as they continue to think about adding to their backline.
According to Record, the club had eyes on Arnolin at the Estádio do Dragão as Estoril faced Porto in the Portuguese league.
Arnolin, aged just 18, made his first start in the match but ended up on the losing side as Porto ran out 4-0 winners.
The report adds that he’s been tracked by Barca for some time now but the Catalans may also face competition
from Brighton and Lille, who also had scouts in attendance at the game.
The teenager is the latest young defender to be linked with Barcelona this season. The Catalans are also keen on FC Twente youngster Ruud Nijstad and Brazil starlet Arthur Dias.
Signing a defender certainly seems to be back on the agenda after defeats to PSG and Real Madrid, with more experienced players such as Alessandro Bastoni and Lisandro Martinez also being linked with Barca again.
Hansi Flick has also recently spoken about the club’s hunt for a new defender and said it is something the club are thinking about ahead of the winter window.
