Barcelona are set to find out who they will play in the next round of the Copa del Rey when the draw for the last 16 takes place on Wednesday, January 7th at 1pm local time.
Hansi Flick’s side booked their
place in the next round by beating Guadalajara 2-0 in December and will face lower tier opposition once again later this month.
Barcelona can face any of the following five teams who all ply their trade in the second division.
Burgos
Racing Santander
Deportivo La Coruña
Cultural Leonesa
Albacete
There have already been plenty of shocks in the competition so far. Racing booked their spot in the last 16 by dumping out Villarreal, Albacete beat Celta on penalties, Burgos saw off Getafe and Cultural Leonesa despatched Levante.
The ties are due to take place after the Spanish Super Cup and between 13-15th January.
Barcelona will once again play away from home with the lower-ranked teams granted home advantage. All matches are single legs, meaning penalties and extra-time will be used if required.
