Bayern Munich faced Borussia Dortmund in the Franz-Beckenbauer Supercup. A 2-1 win against Dortmund thus resulted in Bayern’s first trophy of the season. However amidst the trophy celebrations, someone always has to talk shop.Following the win, Bayern talisman Harry Kane was asked about his contract talks with the club were progressing. And his answer is probably as reassuring as it gets.
“We’ll talk this week and next. We’ll just have an open discussion,” he said, per @iMiaSanMia. “We’re not in a hurry
or panicking. My full focus is on Bayern Munich and the upcoming season,” he went on further, explaining.
“The talks will happen behind the scenes. You’ll hear about it when there’s something to say.” he emphasized.
A classy response by the English striker with just enough to keep the media at bay.
It comes as no surprise that Kane has no intentions of leaving the club. There are several reasons to this. Kane is extremely comfortably with the team — both the players and the coaching staff. Bayern is one of the very few clubs across the globe which is still reliably competitive every year. There is the factor of his family having settled well in Munich. Most importantly, the club has been constantly watching to make sure he is well taken care of. In fact, the campaign they have been running for Kane to get Ballon d’Or is unlike anything most teams would do.
With all these factors, Kane’s stay is inevitable. Now it is only a question of how long.
