LOS ANGELES — Weather forecasts call for 72 degrees and sunny around 5 p.m. PT on Monday, but there is still a tornado warning for Dodger Stadium. Hideo Nomo will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium before
Game 3 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium.
Nomo, whose move from the Kintetsu Buffaloes to the Dodgers in 1995 ushered in generations of Japanese stars making the jump to MLB, pitched seven of his 12 stateside seasons in Los Angeles, and still holds the record for most MLB wins by a Japanese pitcher (123).
Brad Paisley, whose Nashville home provided the backdrop for some of the negotiations between the Dodgers and Rays for the (Game 3 starter) Tyler Glasnow trade during the 2023 winter meetings, will perform the U.S. national anthem on Monday. J.P. Saxe will perform the Canadian national anthem before game three.
Orel Hershiser will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 4 on Tuesday. The 1988 National League Cy Young Award winner also that year won NLCS MVP and World Series MVP, and was the last Dodgers pitcher to pitch consecutive postseason complete games before Yoshinobu Yamamoto in his last two starts.
Tinashe will sign the U.S. national anthem and Deborah Cox has the Canadian national anthem before Game 4.
The ceremonial first pitch for Game 5 has not yet been announced. Sofia Carson (U.S.) and Rufus Wainwright (Canada) will perform the national anthems on Wednesday.
