The Raiders sit 2-5 after an awful loss to the Chiefs 31-0, where the Raiders amazed an impressive 91 yards of offense on the day with three first downs. This off-season the Raiders decided to part ways
with players that totaled over 60% of their defensive snaps. In addition to these, the Raiders have let former players walk in previous seasons and it’s always interesting to check in on and see how these players are performing.
ILB Divine Deablo – Falcons
Deablo left the Raiders to sign a 2 year, 11.5 million deal with the Falcons, returning home to Georgia and that contract already looks like a steal for the Falcons. Deablo has logged 24 tackles, a TFL, sack, 4 PBU, and a fumble recovery in his first 6 games with the team. In addition the former Raiders 3rd rounder has posted 6 pressures, 13 stops, and allowed just 5 receptions for 46 yards and a 69.1 QBR. Deablo has been a sensational linebacker for the Falcons defensive scheme, consistently performing well vs the pass and being able to utilize his athletic traits. The Raiders replaced Deablo, and Spillane, with Germaine Pratt, Elandon Roberts, Devin White, and Jamal Adams and frankly it hasn’t worked out for the team yet.
CB Nate Hobbs – Packers
Hobbs signed a 4 year, 48 million deal with the Packers with just 16 million guaranteed this off-season and it’s possible this could be his only season with the team. Through 5 games, Hobbs has allowed 13 receptions, 180 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a 127.8 QBR while only logging one pass breakup. The biggest issue with Hobbs and the Packers come with his positional split as Hobbs is currently playing 235 snaps at boundary corner and just 31 in the slot where he excelled with the Raiders. Similar to 2022 where the Raiders moved Hobbs to the boundary he’s struggling to find the consistent level of play he provided in the slot similar to his rookie season along with 2023 and 2024.
SAF Tre’von Moehrig – Panthers
Moehrig was bound for a large payday and the Panthers cashed in with a 3 year, 51 million contract making Moehrig among the five highest paid safeties in the NFL. The former Raiders 2nd rounder has been excellent for the Panthers in seven games logging 46 tackles, a career high 6 TFL, 4 quarterback hits, a sack, and 2 pass breakups. In addition, Moehrig has allowed 26 receptions for 189 yards and a 89.2 QBR which are all career bests. The Panthers have started to shit Moehrig around more often than the Raiders did having him play nearly 200 snaps in the slot similar to what Moehrig did at TCU in 2020 where he won the Thorpe award. Additionally, Moehrig has played nearly 45 % of his snaps at strong safety similar to what he did at TCU and found success while the Raiders confined Moehrig to primarily a FS position.
ILB Robert Spillane – Patriots
Spillane signed with the Patriots on a 3 year, 33 million deal rejoining his former head coach Mike Vrabel and after a rough first two games where Spillane missed 8 tackles and allowed over 100 yards he’s settled in well and performing at the expected level Raiders fans are even used to seeing. Spillane has logged 20 stops, 7 pressures, and is allowing a 99.7 QBR with 55 tackles, a TFL, sack, 2 pass breakups, interception, and forced fumble. Spillane has cemented himself as one of the NFL’s best run defending ILB and he’s proving that as an anchor of the 5-2 Patriots defense.
CB Jack Jones – Dolphins
Jones was polarizing last season for the Raiders logging 16 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, and a touchdown but the corner was too aggressive in coverage getting flagged 8 times while allowing 54 receptions, 679 yarads, and 10 touchdowns along with a 115.8 QBR. After hiring Pete Carroll, the Raiders released Jones and he landed in Miami where the former Patriots 4th rounder has logged 3 pass breakups and is allowing 11 receptions for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns for a 98.7 QBR. Jones has found success with the Dolphins who limited his playtime in man coverage and he’s succeed in zone coverage being able to sit on routes, similar to in 2024 with the Raiders where in zone coverage Jones allowed just a 48.7 QBR compared to his 141.7 in man coverage. Jones is still struggling to tackle with a 22% missed tackle rate after a 17% rate with the Raiders in 2024.
CB Jakorian Bennett – Eagles
Raiders fans were upset with the trade of Bennett for IDL Thomas Booker, and Bennett has yet to really make an impact in Philadelphia while Booker has succeeded in Las Vegas. Admittingly I was among those upset at the trade and happy to be wrong for the Raiders. Bennett logged just 24 snaps in three games before suffering a shoulder injury, though he allowed 6 receptions, 50 yards, and an 80.8 QBR in those snaps while adding a PBU. Bennett is expected back soon and should slot back into the Eagles CB rotation.
EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson – Patriots
Chaisson signed with the Patriots on a 1 year, 3 million contract with the Raiders choosing to keep Malcolm Koonce instead. After a resurgence year with the Raiders, Chaisson is continuing to be a big player for the Patriots with 24 pressures, 4.5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery touchdown. In addition, Chaisson has logged 9 stops, 25 pressures, and a 14.7% win rate. While he’s been more productive than Koonce in a large margin, Koonce does have the upper hand in terms of win rate and run defense, though you imagine the Raiders would’ve liked to keep Chaisson for his production as a rotational pass rusher. (For those wondering, Koonce has 11 stops, 15 pressures, and a 15.1% win rate along with a sack, 2 TFL, and FF)
C Andre James – Chargers
The former Raiders starting C has yet to log a snap for the Chargers after being released from the Raiders, the Raiders replaced James with Jackson – sorry Jordan Meredith who’s been slightly better though they have a better center on the roster with Powers-Johnson who’s seemingly been benched.
NT John Jenkins – Ravens
The Raiders let the now 36 year old Jenkins walk, and he’s landed with the Ravens where he’s become a starter the last three games. The former Raiders NT has logged 4 pressures, 11 stops, and a 41.8% run stop win rate which is 12th among all IDL in the NFL. Additionally, Jenkins has logged a sack, FF, FR, 3 TFL, and 3 quarterback hits. The Raiders opted to replace Jenkins with Leki Fotu, who’s done as expected in 98 snaps logging 4 pressures, 5 stops, a sack, hit, and tackle for loss though is 34.8% run stop win rate is significantly lower than you’d expect from a NT.
DB Thomas Harper – Lions
Harper has logged just 10 snaps for the Lions in 2025 serving primarily as a ST player, though the former Raider has a PBU in his limited snaps. On special teams, Harper has logged 2 tackles and 0 missed tackles in 35 snaps.
DT Matthew Butler – Dolphins
The former Raiders 5th rounder was waived during roster cuts and landed with the Dolphins where in 2025 he’s logged 129 snaps (a career high), 5 pressures, 4.7% pass rush win rate, and a TFL. The Raiders have seen good production from Jonah Laulu, Thomas Booker, and Adam Butler along with having two rookies likely having Butler no shot to make the roster.
Now taking a look at the Raiders that have found new homes prior to last off-season, and if you’re wondering the list doesn’t get better.
RB Josh Jacobs – Packers
The former Raiders 1st round pick in 2019, Jacobs has seen success with the Packers in 2024 with 301 attempts, 1329 yards, 15 touchdowns and another 342 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile in 2024 the Raiders struggled heavily to run the ball at all, in 2025 for Jacobs has logged 111 attempts for 414 yards but 8 rushing touchdowns. Jacobs has forced 21 missed tackles while also ranking top 10 in breakaway rate and elusiveness rating. To complement a poor rushing attack in 2024, the Raiders selected Ashton Jeanty round 1 and he’s logged 111 attempts, 445 yards, and three touchdowns with another 2 receiving touchdowns. Jeanty has also forced 27 missed tackles and ranks top 8 in elusiveness and breakaway ratings though the Raiders only have their first rounder 6 attempts last week in a very questionable decision.
T Jermaine Eluemunor – Giants
The former Raiders starting RT in 2022-2023, Eluemunor has found success with the Giants and is becoming a solidified RT for imaginably a long time in New York. The near 31 year old has allowed just one sack and 8 pressures through 496 snaps this season after 4 sacks and 29 pressures in 2024. The Raiders replaced Eluemunor with 3rd rounder in 2024 DJ Glaze who has done well allowing 3 sacks and 51 pressures as a rookie though rebounding well with 2 sacks and 15 pressures in 414 snaps this season. The 23 year old has a long future ahead of him in the NFL.
CB Amik Robertson – Lions
This one hurts, Robertson struggled with the Raiders in 2020 and 2021, his first two seasons in the NFL before making a massive impact in 2022 and 2023 where the former 4th rounder logged 88 tackles, 5 TFL, four interceptions, 15 breakups, 4 forced fumbles, and a touchdown while allowing an 89.2 QBR. Likewise, the Raiders let Robertson walk in free agency where he signed a 2 year, 10 million deal with the Lions and in his first two seasons Robertson has logged 31 run stops, 68 tackles, 6 TFL, 11 PBU, 5 FF, an interception, and is allowing a 93.7 QBR while being a starter on a Super Bowl caliber team. The Lion are using Robertson at both NCB and the boundary and he’s succeeded well.
IOL Greg Van Roten – Giants
Van Roten logged 1025 snaps for the Raiders in 2023, and it revitalized his career where he’s now played nearly 1600 snaps in two seasons with the Giants in 2024 and 2025 including starting all 17 in 2024 and all 7 in 2025. After allowing 5 sacks and 21 pressures in 2023, Van Roten allowed 6 sacks and 35 pressures in 2024 and 3 sacks, 15 pressures in 2025 so far. He’s been a starter at RG for the Giants and the 35 year old is enjoying a strong end to his 15 year career.
ILB Drake Thomas – Seahawks
Thomas was a flash for the Raiders ALLLLL the way back in 2022 during preseason where he logged 4 TFL, a sack, 2 PBU, and a FF so the Raiders released him. Thomas was claimed by the Seahawks and has spent time with them where he’s logged ST snaps mainly till 2025 where he’s pushed for starting caliber snaps including starting week 6 and 7 vs the Bucs and Jags for a total of 201 snaps so far. Through those snaps, Thomas has logged 2 sacks, 6 pass breakups, 32 tackles, 7 TFL, and four quarterback hits with another 8 stops and he’ allowed just 13 receptions for 90 yards and a 58.2 QBR. Who know’s how Thomas would have developed for the Raiders if stayed on the roster, but one thing is clear and that the Raiders were right on signing him after the 2022 draft, though deciding to let him walk was another story.
CB Keisean Nixon – Packers
Another flash in the past, Nixon signed with the Raiders as a UDFA after the 2019 draft and spent 2019-2021 with the team before following Rich Bisaccia to the Packers in 2022, well that has worked out extremely well for him. The 2x All-Pro returner has a career 31 PR for 286 yards and 89 kick returns for 2400 yards and a touchdown mainly all coming with the Packers and over 1800 kick return yards coming in 2022 and 2023. After 2023, the Packers tried Nixon as a full time cornerback and peeled him away from return duties. Nixon has succeeded at cornerback with an interception, 18 pass breakups, 112 tackles, 3 sacks, 11 TFL, and 3 FF coming in 2024 and 2025. In coverage, Nixon has allowed just 77 receptions on 136 targets for 743 yards, 4 touchdowns, and a 89.2 QBR. Nixon is undersized but has succeeded at boundary and nickel cornerback. Similar to Thomas, the Raiders found a gem with Nixon after the 2019 draft and after letting him walk he’s succeeded in the NFL and shows the be a starting cornerback for a long time at just 28 years old.
