Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis was in the starting lineup Sunday for his first game action of the season. Davis was signed to the practice squad on September 4th as he was recovering from a long-term leg injury.
The Bills made Keon Coleman a healthy scratch on Sunday for missing a team meeting on Friday. Davis is likely to play in Coleman’s place.
Davis was a fourth-round pick of the Bills in 2020 NFL Draft. He started 47 games for the Bills from 2020 to 2023, playing in 64 total. He parlayed
that into a big free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024, but he was cut after an injury-plagued season.
Davis made a tough catch on the Bills’ second drive to convert a fourth down. It was a huge trust throw from Allen with Davis blanketed and a great contested grab. He missed a catch in the end zone on a very quick slant later on the drive, but Josh Allen punched it in on the next play.
Davis’ best season with the Bills came in 2022 when he caught 48 passes for 836 yards and seven touchdowns.
We will update as the game goes on.
