Bayern Munich went three for three in the Champions League, so far beating World Champions Chelsea 3-1, David Luiz’s Pafos 5-1 away from home, and now a 4-0 win over Belgian side Club Brugge, whom they
did Brugge aside. Up next for the Bavarians in Europe is top-of-the-table PSG and Arsenal, two tricky fixtures. Vincent Kompany is aware of this fact which is why he wanted all three points from each match before then.
“We knew we couldn’t drop points today because we have PSG and Arsenal coming up”, Kompany explained (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “You have to get all points you can get. But I don’t think the top 8 will be decisive in which team wins the Champions League. Last year with PSG showed that. I think this year, too, it won’t be a really important factor. The most important thing is to advance to the knockouts. We made a good step today.”
Bayern has a bone to pick with PSG, because their last meeting produced a prolonged absence for Jamal Musiala; with Arsenal, the Rekordmeister aims to continue their good record against London clubs.
