The Denver Broncos have been on a tear through October, winning all of their games with the defense emerging back into its dominant form that its had over the previous two seasons. The man in the middle of that defense, Alex Singleton, has been a huge part of that rise.
Through the month of October, Singleton has one game where he didn’t log double-digit tackles in a game. But even more, his quarterback pressures have jump significantly over that span too. For that, he has been named October’s AFC
Defensive Player of the Month!
Let’s recap his October stats:
- Week 4 vs 49ers: 14 total tackles, 1 TFL
- Week 5 vs Chargers: 8 total tackles, 1 TFL
- Week 6 vs Seahawks: 13 total tackles, 1 TFL, 2 QBHits
- Week 7 vs Cardinals: 19 total tackles, 1 TFL, 2 QBHits, 1 Sack
He hasn’t slowed down either. He just finished against the Chiefs with 14 total tackles, 1 TFL, 1 QBHit, 1 Sack, and 1 PD. He is leading the league in total tackles too by a wide margin with 101 total tackles. Second place is all the way back to 82. Singleton has been in beast mode out there.
Singleton becomes the first player since Pat Surtain II in 2024 to be awarded AFC Defensive Player of the Month. Von Miller has the most of those awards — by far — with four. Champ Bailey is second with two.
