Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Thursday, May 21, 2026.
- Sportsbooks set opening odds for Dricus du Plessis vs. Kamaru Usman unoffical headliner at UFC Oklahoma: Though the UFC is known for changing its plans at the last second, betting odds releasing is a strong indicator of the current plan.
- Khabib denies Dana White’s retirement tall tale: ‘Nobody ever gave me those millions’: Khabib’s explanation for retiring has never wavered, nor has he shown any interest in returning. I believe “The Eagle!”
- Michael Morales drops major hint towards UFC 330 title shot: ‘I’ll be the next champion’: Let’s just get Islam booked already, one way or another.
Insomnia
If we simply let Ilia Topuria throw two low kicks per round, then I would be interested in watching him box Ryan Garcia. Otherwise? PASS!
Chuck Liddell was rooted to the ground like a thousand year old redwood.
UFC fighters don’t cross check enough. It’s a great defense against a guy who wants to blast power kicks but is unlikely to shoot for takedowns.
Cody Brundage might be retired from MMA? I have friends who fight fire, and the pay/benefits can be much better.
Dropping Ketlen Vieira at this stage of the game seems to indicate UFC really might be done with women’s Bantamweight sooner than later.
Let’s be honest: we’re all clicking on the Wandy vs. Sexyama highlights post when the dust settles.
Slips, rips, and KO clips
Anderson Silva’s ground and pound was terrifyingly precise.
Ilia Topuria having an amateur win via reverse triangle is a fun fact.
Using the jab to line up the right:
Random Land
A funky painting.
