BUT WAIT; THERE’S MORE!!!!
Minutes after his former QB committed to Miami, former Harvard and Duke WR Cooper Barkate also announced his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes.
A 6’1” 195lb receiver, Barkate was the top target for Mensah and Duke in the 2025 season.
After starring at Harvard for 3 years, Barkate transferred to Duke for the 2025 season. While there, he compiled 72 catches for 1,106 yards and 7 touchdowns for the ACC Champion Blue Devils. For his efforts, Barkate was named 2nd team All-ACC in 2025.
Unlike the Mensah scenario, this was a straightforward transfer situation for Barkate. He’s joining the Hurricanes alongside his QB, and gives Miami yet another top tier starter at the receiver position. Barkate is the 3rd receiver transfer to join Miami this offseason, but the most accomplished by far. This is all to the good for the Hurricanes.
I’m elated. This is awesome. I love being rich.
