Real Sociedad were not happy with referee Alejandro Hernández Hernández after going down 2-1 to Barcelona on Sunday night in La Liga.
The visitors took the lead in the game but were pegged back when Jules
Kounde headed in a corner from Marcus Rashford to equalise.
Goalkeeper Álex Remiro was unhappy with the decision, as he felt it should have been a goal kick instead, and claims the referee admitted his mistake after the game.
“I’ve also complained… We’ve spoken with Alejandro, with the referee, and he’s admitted his mistake,” he said, via Marca.
However, Remiro went to add “it’s more of a mistake for us to defend the corner poorly.”
Real Sociedad coach Sergio Francisco also complained about the decision after the match.
“The 1-1 scoreline hurts us a lot because, and it’s not because of the referee, but I think the entire stadium except for the referee saw that it wasn’t a corner. It makes me angry because going 0-1 at halftime could have given us a little more time to manage the game better,” he said.
