Endrick continues to make a compelling case for himself in France — both on the pitch and in the conversation about his future.
The Real Madrid loanee played a decisive role in Olympique Lyonnais’ 4-2 win over Rennes, contributing a goal and an assist in another standout performance. With just two matches remaining in his loan spell, attention is increasingly shifting toward what comes next for the 19-year-old — and his post-match comments only added intrigue to the situation.
Another decisive performance
Endrick was once again
at the center of Lyon’s attacking play. He won the penalty that led to Afonso Moreira’s goal for 2-1 and later put the game to bed himself, scoring Lyon’s fourth with 15 minutes remaining. His overall display earned widespread praise, underlining his growing influence in the team during the final stretch of the season.
The victory lifts Lyon into third place in Ligue 1, a position that would secure direct qualification to next season’s Champions League — a factor that could prove crucial in any discussions about Endrick’s future.
Across 19 appearances — 17 as a starter — the Brazilian has now registered eight goals and seven assists, a strong return that reflects both his productivity and his adaptation to European football.
“I’ll do what God tells me”
After the match, Endrick was asked directly about his plans once the loan ends — and his response made it clear that little has been decided.
“I’ll do what God tells me, what my wife tells me. If I have to stay at Lyon, I’ll gladly stay.”
He expanded further on his openness to different scenarios, including a return to Madrid or another loan move:
“If I have to go back to Real Madrid, I will. If Real wants to send me somewhere else, I’ll go. But it’s God’s decision that will tell me what I should do.”
In additional comments reflecting on his current situation, Endrick emphasized how comfortable he feels in Lyon:
“I don’t know, I’m very happy here, I feel great. Will I stay? I’m on loan, I’m happy with my teammates, everything is going very well. After that, you never know what might happen, we’ll see. I’m leaving it all in God’s hands and we’ll see what happens. If I have to stay in Madrid, I’ll stay in Madrid; if I have to renew my contract here, I’ll renew it here. I’d really like to stay; they’re doing everything they can to make me feel good.”
Real Madrid will ultimately control the next step, but Lyon are hopeful that a Champions League berth could strengthen their case to keep him for another season.
