Time to go back to domestic action, with Chelsea Women taking on Brighton away in the Women’s Super League. We desperately need a victory to get back within grasping range of current league leaders Manchester
City, and the Seagulls will be eager to try to double our trouble in the competition.

Brighton team news: To compensate several departures taking place at the end of last season, including defender Maria Thorisdottir and forward Nikita Parris, Brighton had to open up their pockets a bit. Arrivals include former Real Madrid forward Carla Camanho and Maelys Mpomé, who spent a season with Chelsea before moving further south.
Brighton head into their match against Chelsea with a couple of confirmed long-term absentees. Michelle Agyemang suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament late in October and is ruled out for the remainder of the season, leaving the Seagulls without one of their key attacking options. Rebecca Rayner is also sidelined, while Aisha Masaka continues her recovery from a knee problem and remains unavailable.
Chelsea team news: The Blues did what we expected of them against Roma in the Women’s Champions League, easily beating the Italian outfit 6-0 at Stamford Bridge. It’s the kind of form they must bring to domestic affairs, especially when it comes to regularly finishing chances on target — as we did versus the Giallorossi.
Our ongoing injury concern is goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, who’s been out of contention for more than a month. According to Sonia Bompastor the shot-stopper is doing well on her recovery but she’s not yet ready to take action.
Previously: A double from Lauren James on top of a Fran Kirby goal to get the full points away against the Seagulls.
