The Guardians lost 9-4 today and it was a rough one.
Erik Sabrowski was a very valuable player. It turns out if Colin Holderman has a shaky outing, Tim Herrin cannot be counted on to be a Holderman facsimile. Who’d have thought?
I don’t feel like recapping every moment of this painful game.
Tanner Bibee was much better today. José Ramírez was not (he did finally get some BABIP luck). Will Dion was better today. Codi Heuer was not.
Stuart Fairchild is the worst hitter I have seen in quite a while.
David
Fry was 3 for 4 with a walk. Travis Bazzana was not (Ranger Suarez kinda ate the rookie’s lunch). Austin Hedges came through in the clutch. Kyle Manzardo did not.
I am still confident this is a good baseball team. But we are in for a rough stretch until they get bullpen reinforcements, which, again, is a result of ownership cheaping out on that in the offseason.
On to New York to face the Yankees! Yay!
