As he was on a minor league deal, the expectations were for Leonard to serve as valuable depth, which he did valiantly, but was never called upon to join the big league club.

Leonard spent the entire 2025 season with the Gwinnett Stripers, playing every position except catcher
and center field.
All told, it wasn’t a bad season at all for Leonard. In 126 games at the triple-A level, the 25-year-old posted a .739 OPS in addition to swatting 20 homers and driving in 61 runs. The downside is that Leonard was also strikeout-prone, going down on strikes in roughly a quarter of his at-bats.
The highlight of Leonard’s 2025 season came on May 11 against Durham in which he went 2-2 with a pair of homers and three RBI.
2026 outlook
After electing free agency after the conclusion of the 2025 season, Leonard signed another minor league contract, this time with the Milwaukee Brewers. Unless he is released or is traded back to the organization, Leonard will not be a part of the Braves 2026 plans.
