The NFL season rolls on with Week 5 now in the books. We already broke down what the NFL Boilers did in week 1 of the season so now let’s take a look at the last 4 weeks of the season.
Week 2
Derrick Barnes – Detroit Lions – 6 tackles and a sack in a 41-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
George Karlaftis – Kansas City Chiefs – 5 tackles against the home state Indianapolis Colts. Chiefs win 33-30 in OT.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. – NY Football Giants – Returned two kickoffs for 52 yards and recorded a tackle on special
teams. The Giants lost to the Rams 28-6.
Marcus Mbow – NY Football Giants – Played two special teams snaps. No stats recorded. The Giants lost to the Rams 28-6.
Payne Durham – Tampa Bay Bucs – Played 23 snaps when combining offense and special teams. I’m still personally disgruntled that he’s not getting more run on offense. Bucs lost 23-19 to the Cleveland Browns.
Reese Taylor – Miami Dolphins – 1 tackle as a member of the punting unit. Dolphins lost to the 49ers 35-13.
Aidan O’Connell – Las Vegas Raider – Out due to the death of his father. Raiders beat the Chargers 26-14.
Jalen Graham (49ers) and Charlie Jones (Giants) remained on the practice squad.
Week 3
Derrick Barnes – Detroit Lions – 8 tackles including one TFL in a 31-24 victory over the Jets.
George Karlaftis – Kansas City Chiefs – 1st career INT, 2 tackles including 1 TFL in 24-10 victory over the Dolphins.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. – NY Football Giants – 1 carry for 3 yards, and special teams tackle. Giant beat the Titans 12-7.
Marcus Mbow – NY Football Giants – Played four special teams snaps. No stats recorded. Giant beat the Titans 12-7.
Payne Durham – Tampa Bay Bucs – Started at tight end but recorded no receptions. He got some good blocking in though. Unfortunately, the Bucs lost 23-16 to the Vikings.
Reese Taylor – Miami Dolphins – 3 special teams snaps. Dolphins lost to the Chiefs 24-10.
Aidan O’Connell – Las Vegas Raider – Did not play.
Jalen Graham (49ers) and Charlie Jones (Giants) remained on the practice squad.
Week 4
Derrick Barnes – Detroit Lions – 1 tackle. Detroit lost 32-26 to Carolina.
George Karlaftis – Kansas City Chiefs – 5 tackles, 1 TFL, 6 total QB hits. Chiefs won 30-27 over the Raiders.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. – NY Football Giants – Returned one kickoff for 55 yards and recorded one rush for -1 yards. The Giants beat the Cardinals 36-24.
Reese Taylor – Miami Dolphins – 1 special teams tackle. Dolphins lost to the Vikings 15-10.
Aidan O’Connell – Las Vegas Raider – DNP. Raiders lost to the Chiefs 30-27.
Charlie Jones – NY Football Giants – Saw his first action of the season. Returned 3 kicks for 69 yards and 2 punts for 29 yards. Combined for 78 yards. Giants won 36-24 over Arizona.
Jalen Graham (49ers) remained on the practice squad.
Pretty interesting to me that both Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Charlie Jones are part of the Giants squad and both are returning kicks. Just one of those weird coincidences.
Week 5
Derrick Barnes – Detroit Lions – 4 tackles and 1 sack. Lions beat the Cardinals 45-21.
George Karlaftis – Bye week for the Chiefs so I’m sure he was hanging out with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. – NY Football Giants – 3 rushes for 6 yards, 2 receptions for 25 yards, 2 kick returns for 55 yards. A combined total of 86 yards. Giants and Commanders tied at 27.
Marcus Mbow – NY Football Giants – Played 51% of all offensive snaps at right tackle. Giants and Commanders tied at 27.
Payne Durham – Tampa Bay Bucs – It’s no coincidence that the Bucs won their first game of the season 24-16 over the Cowboys and Durham got his first catch of the season. A 5 yard recption. Feed Durham and good things happen.
Reese Taylor – Miami Dolphins – Inactive.
Aidan O’Connell – Las Vegas Raider – DNP. Raiders lost to the Chiefs 30-27.
Charlie Jones – NY Football Giants – Returned 5 kicks for 130 yards and 4 punts for 52 yards. Combined for 182 return yards. Giants and Commanders tied at 27.
Jalen Graham (49ers) remained on the practice squad.
