Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here are the stories you need to know as the Giants get set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
As Jonathan Taylor trade lingers, Giants have chance to put away flawed NFC East | NJ.com
This week, the Giants visit Philadelphia, which won’t have Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season and has now lost six straight games. Then comes a short-week Thursday night home game against Washington.
Those are two massive division games in a five-day stretch, with a chance to emerge from Week 10 in great position to capture the crown. After Week 10, the Giants close
with the Jaguars, Colts, 49ers, Seahawks, Browns, Lions, Cowboys and Eagles.

How weak NFC East should affect Giants’ pursuit of Jonathan Taylor | New York Post
Is it too soon to say it? Is the NFC East the Giants’ division to lose?
As they sat back and enjoyed their bye week, already alone in first place, the Giants had the pleasure of seeing the Cowboys, playing in their palatial AT&T Stadium, lose 33-30 in overtime to the last-place Cardinals.
As Giants pursue Jonathan Taylor, could they pivot to Derrick Henry? | Pro Football Talk
Derrick Henry, now 32, is far closer to the end of his career than the beginning. His contract pays out $12 million in 2027, with none of it guaranteed. Now could be the time for the Ravens to turn the remainder of his contract into a draft pick or two.
Through eight games, Henry leads the league with 158 carries. He has 632 yards (4.0 per carry) and eight touchdowns. Given the quarterback injuries in Baltimore, the Ravens surely will get a call or two about Henry. The Giants, given their interest in Taylor, could be one of them.

Only Giants’ Cam Skattebo flagged among eight Week 7 helmet-use fines | USAToday.com
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was the only player among eight fined for illegal use of the helmet in Week 7 who also drew an on-field penalty.
During the Giants’ 27-21 overtime win over the Houston Texans, Skattebo lowered his helmet while running through safety M.J. Stewart in the first quarter. The contact produced a 15-yard personal foul that wiped out a seven-yard gain with New York leading 7-3. The NFL later fined him $7,073, his second such fine of the season after an identical amount for a similar run against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.
