Linebacker Nate Landman could miss Week 7 after he entered the concussion protocol on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Rams have already lost several key starters this week, including Davante Adams and Kobie Turner, but now their top linebacker could be held out against the Las Vegas Raiders.
What the Rams need is to be healthy, and that’s not happening. Will L.A. get healthy? Will Myles Garrett play again this season?
Things aren’t looking good. You know what would make things look better? If the Rams could
find way to win on Sunday, but that looks less likely each day this week as the injuries continue to pile up.
The team can say they aren’t giving up, but at a certain point this season will be lost, unless they can turn it around. The way the Rams turn this all around is with a win. Now, they may have to find a way to win without Landman.
Rams LB Nate Landman in concussion protocol (ramswire)
“Only missing one play, Landman recorded 71 snaps on Sunday during the team’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals, picking up 10 total tackles. Since joining the Rams last season, he has not missed a game for the franchise. This season, he has 51 total tackles (27 solo), six stuffs, and two forced fumbles.
If he is unable to play, Omar Speights should be the player to step up in his role, while Shaun Dolac and Grant Stuard will serve as backups. Considering the team’s heavy use of their nickel and dime defense, Landman’s potential absence could lead to problems on the interior as they’re set to face the tight end duo of Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer this week when they play the Las Vegas Raiders.“
Rams Get Ominous Injury Timeline Update on Myles Garrett (sports.yahoo)
“Rams head coach Sean McVay announced in Week 6 that Garrett would not return to action.
McVay did the same ahead of Week 7. Unfortunately, it appears Rams fans could hear that familiar refrain for several more weeks.
This comes as at least a mild surprise after previous reports suggested it was possible that Garrett could return in Week 7. Garrett also received a possible six-to-eight-week timeline, which would put his return at Weeks 8 through 10.“
Rams waiting to schedule Adams’ (hammy) surgery (nbcsports)
“Surgeries are sometimes delayed to help reduce swelling. Occasionally, new information is gathered during this time and/or during the surgery. Adams is currently expected to be sidelined for 6-10 weeks. Perhaps the wide return-to-play timeline is due to the fact that the surgeon has not yet fully assessed the injury. We tentatively expect the team to share an updated recovery timeline once Adams undergoes the procedure on his ruptured hamstring tendon. Stay tuned.”
Rams have no consolation prize waiting in 2027 draft (no matter how the season ends) (ramblinfan)
“Los Angelesmade 14 draft selections in 2023. Shockingly, nine of those players are still with the team, and many are vital starters. That’s how the Rams were able to rebound so quickly. Rather than cling to veterans, they shed highly compensated stars, gathered as many draft picks as possible, and completely overhauled the roster.
What felt like insanity at the time proved to be inspired wisdom. On a roster filled with holes, rookies easily earned starting roles. The team benefited from developing plug-and-play dynamos who have become the roster’s core.
The gamble paid off with a jackpot. With a first-round draft pick, the Rams had to begin the rebuild in Round 2. They made the practical decision to commit their first three selections to addressing the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.“
Rams face another looming threat as Puka Nacua’s NFL review drags on (nypost)
“Wide receiver Puka Nacua and left tackle Alaric Jackson remain under league review for off-field incidents, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told The California Post on Wednesday. There is no timeline for a decision in either matter.
That leaves the Rams trying to rescue their season while waiting to learn whether their path will become even more difficult.
The hope had been to build enough of a cushion in the standings to absorb potential suspensions. Instead, the Rams have left themselves little margin for error, and an injury to wide receiver Davante Adams has further complicated their situation.“

Rams drop in Week 7 power rankings (therams)
“Here is the power ranking roundup heading into Week 7.
USA Today: 13
As they enter a new Bill Parcells reality − “You are what your record says you are” − the Rams (2-4) have also added injuries to Sunday’s (latest) insult. Moving forward, they won’t have WR Davante Adams (hamstring) or DL Kobie Turner for at least the next month. NT Poona Ford is out for the year. And the kicker? Sean McVay needs another one of those, too.“
The Rams and Chargers are both a mess, and it’s only getting worse (sports.yahoo)
“The preseason hype surrounding football in Los Angeles was real. The Rams made bold, splashy moves to tweak an already stellar team and presumably turn them into a monster. The Chargers retooled their coaching staff, adding vaunted offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel in a move assumed would finally get the hapless franchise over the hump and into contention.
Fast-forward six weeks and both organizations are a dumpster fire. The Rams (2-4) have drastically underperformed their potential, losing to the Cardinals over the weekend and finding themselves at the bottom of the NFC West with no clear way to catch up. The Chargers (0-6) are even worse, boasting one of the worst offenses in the NFL, hurtling towards a No. 1 overall pick, with a coaching staff that seems incapable of turning the ship around.
The idea of an all-Los Angeles, Chargers vs. Rams Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium didn’t feel like it was outside the realm of possibility at one point. Now the notion of putting these teams together on football’s brightest stage is a hilarious joke. Neither team is likely to make the playoffs at all, and everything that could go wrong, has.“
Comment of the day:
“We’re going with a guy who used to be good but hasn’t been recently. Sounds like a good plan. I am losing my trust in this organizations ability to make good decisions. I am very interested to see what happens against the Raiders.
If we split with the Sea Hawks, lose to the Niners and Chiefs, and win every other remaining game, we would be 10-7 which may not be good enough with tie breakers. That’s our margin for error to be a wild card. It is possible but highly unlikely considering the way we are playing. It’s very possible for us to win the next 4 and then things get much more difficult. However, this week is probably the toughest of the next 4. It will be interesting to see what we’re made of. After losing to the Cardinals, it’s tough to feel like we’ve just been unlucky since it wasn’t a fluke and they flat out played us. It was really a must win and we didn’t show up. Hopefully we’ll get it together this week.“ -JWgorams
