It’s official. Thomas Frank is now no longer the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.
Let that sink in for a moment.
In the words of Frodo Baggins: It’s done.
I could make a laundry list of statistics and results
as to why this has to happen; but I’m pretty sure everybody is aware at this point as to the why. Frank had no answers as to the continual questions raised under his reign: lack of attacking structure; rotation; injury management; defensive frailties; clashes with the fans; inability to secure what should be simple victories. It’s that lack of answers that has led the club to this point – in danger of relegation and with an uphill battle to stay afloat in the Premier League.
With this now official, all eyes will turn to the hunt for a replacement. Whether that will be a permanent or temporary appointment is as yet unclear. What is absolutely necessary though is for them to have the answer to at least some of the above questions; if they do not, Spurs are going down. I think it would be hard to do much worse than the status quo.
Good luck, Thomas Frank, for whatever is next. I’m just glad you’re not running things at Tottenham Hotspur FC anymore.
