Fans of the Buffalo Bills: be prepared to hear lots of rumors about which potential free agents could sign with the team, because we’re about to enter the NFL’s legal tampering period.
Although NFL free agency doesn’t officially begin until 4 p.m. EDT Wednesday afternoon, the league’s legal tampering period begins at noon EDT today and runs through 3:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.
During the league’s legal tampering window, teams like the Buffalo Bills can contact and negotiate with agents of players who
will become unrestricted free agents once the league year officially begins Wednesday afternoon.
Teams and players can agree to terms during this period, even though contracts cannot be signed until 4 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.
With the start of free agency upon us, today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by running through some of the moves president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane could make to address Buffalo’s roster needs heading into a pivotal 2026 season.
Previewing moves the Bills could make in free agency
The Buffalo Bills have already been busy this offseason, trading for wide receiver DJ Moore, retaining center Connor McGovern, trading veteran nickel cornerback Taron Johnson, and restructuring the contracts of defensive tackle Ed Oliver and starting right tackle Spencer Brown, among other moves.
With free agency set to begin, read below how Brandon Beane has tackled free agency in the past to see if there are any lessons to be learned for his plan of attack this year.
