After a thrilling win for Everton at the home opening of the new Hill Dickinson Stadium against Brighton & Hove Albion, the Toffees are going to have to be careful they don’t fall into the complacency trap against the League One side Mansfield Town tonight.
While Moyes will still be hoping to add another two-three heads to the squad, he’s going to likely be shorthanded still for this Carabao Cup Second Round game. Newest signing Tyler Dibling participated in only his first training session yesterday,
but hopefully will be on the bench for this one.
Who’s Out?
Jarrad Branthwaite is still not ready to return, though Vitaliy Mykolenko has trained this week. Adam Aznou was in the matchday squad for the weekend and should be able to start here.
Everton squad available vs Mansfield
Goalkeepers: Pickford, Travers, King
Defenders: Keane, Branthwaite (INJURED), Tarkowski, O’Brien, Mykolenko (DOUBT), Coleman, Patterson (INJURED), Aznou
Midfielders: Gueye, Garner, Iroegbunam, Dewsbury-Hall, Armstrong
Wingers: McNeil, Ndiaye, Grealish, Dibling, Alcaraz
Attackers: Beto, Barry, Chermiti
Tactics and Formation
Everton will likely stick to the 4-2-3-1 they’ve used against Leeds and Brighton. This should be a good opportunity to hand out some starts to players that haven’t had a look-in yet.

Starters (likelihood of starting rated out of 10)
Mark Travers – 7/10
Adam Aznou – 7/10
Michael Keane – 8/10 Keane hasn’t put a foot wrong yet and is rewarded with the armband for this one.
Jake O’Brien – 8/10 Good opportunity for the lanky Irishman to get some reps in the middle.
Seamus Coleman – 6/10 The club captain didn’t get to go on the pitch on Sunday, and that is corrected today.
Harrison Armstrong – 6/10 With a decision yet to be made about sending him out on loan, this is an opportunity for the youngster to show he belongs.
Tim Iroegbunam – 8/10 Looked much improved on Sunday and gets to go again.
Youssef Chermiti – 7/10
Carlos Alcaraz – 7/10 Charly is at his best when playing through the middle, and only there.
Dwight McNeil – 7/10 After wasting two chances to score on Sunday, Moyes will likely put him back in again.
Beto – 8/10 Barry’s positioning looked very good against Brighton, but neither he nor Beto has scored yet this season. The Brazilian will get first go against the League One side.
