The New York Jets have signed former New York Giants placekicker Younghoe Koo, remembered during his Giants tenure for botched kick on a 47-yard field goal attempt last season in a Week 14 game against the New England Patriots.
The botch, with Koo driving his foot into the turf about a foot behind the ball, resulted in a 13-yard loss and an injury to punter/holder Jamie Gillan during a 33-15 loss on Monday Night Football. Koo kicked in just one more game for the Giants before being replaced by Ben
Sauls.
Koo was not charged with a missed field goal attempt on the play. He went 4 of 6 on field goals and 11 of 12 on extra points in five games for New York.
Koo spent seven seasons ith the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Giants, and is 185 of 217 on field goal tries (85.3%) in his career.
The Giants used Koo, Graham Gano. Jude McAtamney, and Sauls as placekickers in 2025.
The other kickers on the Jets roster are Cade York, another former Giant, and Lenny Krieg, a rookie from Germany.
