Robin Roefs: 8/10
Another really good performance by Roefs, no chance with either goal with both arrowing into the bottom corner, but made some very good saves in the first half. Two away to his right were very similar and then an unbelievable tip onto the bar from a curling effort from Fernandes.
Trai Hume: 5/10
Was quite sloppy on the ball today and not particularly solid defensively, struggled a bit with the home side’s movement.
Nordi Mukiele: 7/10
Was one of a number of players caught underneath the long throw for the second goal but didn’t put a foot
wrong, was strong all afternoon and even got forward to whip a great cross in for Brobbey after he switched to right back.
Omar Alderete: 6/10
Could maybe have got out a bit quicker to Mount for the opening goal but defended well enough all afternoon and was comfortable on the ball.
Arthur Masuaku: 5/10
Wasn’t given much support by Adingra but struggled at left back when it was a back four, looked more comfortable when he was a wing back in a five though.
Noah Sadiki: 6/10
Covered a lot of ground as usual but left Xhaka a bit exposed in the first half hour, did grow into the game though once the formation changed.
Granit Xhaka (C): 6/10
Had a good effort from distance in the first half and played some long diagonals that caused issues but outnumbered at times in front of the back four.
Bertrand Traore: 6/10
Our best attacking outlet today, should have got a goal early on after running onto an Adingra cross but missed the ball, caused the home side problems when the ball was switched to him quickly. Was wrongly booked for diving after being taken out with an open net waiting for him just before he went off.
Simon Adingra: 5/10
Created a great chance for Traore early on, when he got down the line and found his fellow winger in the box but Traore missed the ball. Was a bit of a passenger following that and didn’t provide Masuaku much cover defensively.
Enzo Le Fee: 5/10
Not much attacking intent from Le Fee today from a more central position, was tidy with his passing but just didn’t look confident.
Wilson Isidor: 5/10
Plenty of willing running up top but no service at all. Restricted to closing down the opposition.
Substitutes
Dan Ballard: 6/10
Came on when we were looking a bit ropey and gave us more defensive solidity. Probably should have scored with a header from a corner right at the end of the first half.
Eliezer Mayenda: 6/10
A couple of dangerous runs in the second half, one resulted in a shot comfortably over and then he laid the ball off for Talbi.
Chemsdine Talbi: /10
Should have scored late on after being set up by Mayenda, tested the goalkeeper but it was too near to him. Does look more dangerous on the left.
Brian Brobbey: 6/10
Like Isidor, he got very little service but was inches away from getting on the end of a Mukiele cross.
Lutsharel Geertruida: 6/10
Came on at centre back with Mukiele switching out wide and made a really good recovery tackle on Sesko after it looked like the striker had got away.
Man of the Match: Robin Roefs
Nordi Mukiele played really well once again but I thought the scoreline would have been much worse without Roefs, made some good diving saves in the first half but the tip onto the bar from Bruno’s curled effort was world class. Very assured on the ball as usual and not bothered by the wind.
