Treydan Stukes won’t have to travel far to begin his NFL career.
The Las Vegas Raiders drafted Stukes as the 38th overall pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday evening. Stukes is the highest Arizona defensive back to be taken since Antoine Cason went 27th overall to the San Chargers in 2008.
Stukes earned First-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior, recording 52 total tackles (24 solo, 28 assisted), four interceptions,
six pass breakups, and one sack.
Stukes returned to Arizona in 2025 after missing most of the 2024 season with an ACL injury. Stukes missed the first two games of the 2025 season recovering from the injury.
The Goodyear, Ariz. native joined the Arizona program in 2020 as a walk-on. Stokes remained at Arizona despite multiple coaching turnovers.
Stukes was one of the top risers in the weeks leading up to the NFL Draft. NFL teams were impressed with his speed and ability to disrupt at the line of scrimmage.
Stukes joins a Raiders team that had the No. 1 overall pick, which they used on quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Stukes is expected to play nickelback with the Raiders, according to ESPN’s post-draft analysis.
Stukes’ selection guarantees Arizona will have players drafted in three straight seasons. Two more players from Arizona’s secondary, Genesis Smith and Dalton Johnson, are expected to be drafted.
