Hosting a ton of already offered players this spring, Ohio State is very much in the business of bringing in players they are still evaluating. Making the most of his time on Thursday for a recent visit, the Buckeyes have a new offer on the list by way of Brandon Murphy Jr., who received the good news from Ryan Day.
A 6-foot, 175 pound receiver out of Pennsylvania, Ohio State is the latest of nearly 15 schools to like what they see. Not yet ranked via his 247Sports profile, Brandon does have Florida
State, Indiana, Miami, and a host of others in the fold proving the caliber of player he is.
What matters now is that Ohio State is very much in the mix, and the staff has seen their fare share of success when it comes to recruiting receivers out of Pennsylvania footprint. Looking to continue the positive track record, this is the latest name worth watching moving forward in the 2028 class.
Plenty of guests on campus Thursday
An impressive slate of visitors on Thursday, the coaching staff had ample opportunity to impress, and they clearly did so. Positive vibes all over the social media landscape yesterday, here’s just a few of the updates regarding Ohio State’s latest chances.
George Parkinson IV
A repeat guest thus far in his recruitment, the Buckeyes welcomed the Pennsylvania native edge rusher back for yet another unofficial visit. A 6-foot-4, 230 pound prospect, Parkinson is the No. 71 player nationally and eighth best edge rusher per the 247Sports Composite in the 2028 class.
An offer already in hand for George from Ohio State, the relationship between the two parties is only getting stronger each time he makes the trek to Columbus.
Chaz Rosiles
Making the short trek to campus yesterday as well, the Buckeyes hosted in-state native Chaz Rosiles on Thursday. A 6-foot-2, 175 pound receiver prospect out of Orange High School, Rosiles is not yet ranked, but does have two early offers from Miami Ohio and Western Michigan to his name.
A class of 2028 athlete, it’s early on in his recruitment and a chance to see Ohio State up close and meet with the staff is a great chance at getting on their radar. Only hosting players they have at least some level of interest in, the Buckeyes look to be keeping close tabs on this Ohio native.
Case Campbell
One more name for good measure to mention, Ohio State went into the future a bit and hosted a current high school freshman on Thursday. Making the trip down south from the state up north, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s quarterback prospect Case Campbell was on campus yesterday and had the opportunity to meet with the coaching staff including position coach, Billy Fessler.
A 6-foot-1, 180 pound signal caller already, Case has one major offer to his name by way of Kentucky, but knowing what he will be down the stretch is what’s most exciting for schools getting him on campus. Playing for a program that is no stranger to post-season success at St. Mary’s, he is getting the type of coaching that will keep him atop of his game and certainly as one of the top talents at the position for his cycle.
Ohio State being one of the premier programs for developing quarterbacks, getting in the mix this early on is only a benefit if they desire to keep him in their list of guys they believe can be a real leader of their class when the time comes.
Quick Hits
Staying in the mix for several top players along the defensive line in the 2027 class as it’s been seen, the Buckeyes once again made the cut earlier this week for four-star edge rusher, Marvin Nguetsop.
A 6-foot-7, 270 pound athlete, Marvin is the No. 384 player nationally and the 45th best at his position per the 2027 class and shared the latest update in his recruitment Wednesday by releasing a top five schools list.
Nearly 30 offers to his name, narrowing it down to just five schools has him that much closer to a decision and Ohio State was joined by Kentucky, Michigan, Ole Miss, and Tennessee as the finalists. Looking to bring in a major class in the trenches, being at the forefront in the minds of several top players is exactly where Ohio State wants to be.
