Congratulations to Kyreece Lisbie, your August 2026 player of the month!
The young winger’s made a strong start to life in Berkshire, following his summer move from Colchester United. Given that Reading had to wait for a while to get the deal done, after almost securing Lisbie’s signature in January, his form’s all the more pleasing.
While Lisbie’s yet to score in a competitive game for the Royals, he’s still been involved in other players’ goals. In August – so deliberately ignoring a bright performance
against Mansfield Town for the purposes of this article – he set up Jack Marriott against Luton Town before doing the same for Randell Williams away to Stevenage.
Plus, he’s forming an excellent partnership with fellow summer arrival Udoka Godwin-Malife down the right. They’re particularly energetic, positive players and it’ll be exciting to see how they kick on over the course of this season.
Dokes was, as it happens, the runner-up for August’s player of the month award. With Lisbie romping home to victory on 62%, Dokes took 31%. That left a modest 7% for the third and final candidate Benn Ward, who also had a good game against Mansfield in September’s first fixture.
