Three Keys
1) Please try to balance the offense more – Last week, the Vikings had just 11 rush attempts, while J.J. McCarthy threw the ball 42 times. That’s not a formula for this team to be successful. This team made moves this offseason to get better at running the football, and while they’ve had success doing it, they’ve gotten away from it earlier than they should have. Balancing the offense against what has been a bad Chicago defense will be a key to victory in this one.
2) Please get after Caleb Williams – Williams has been much improved this season and wasn’t even that bad when these two teams met back in Week 1. One of his biggest strengths has been his ability to get out of the pocket and make plays on the move, and the Vikings would do well to limit his ability to do that. He has plenty of weapons that he can take advantage of, and if he has time to find them it could be a long day for this Minnesota secondary.
3) Please, PLEASE, stop doing dumb things – We all saw what happened last week with the eight false start penalties and a few other issues that have been addressed at other times in this space. The Vikings have to know that this is a must-win game for them, and there’s no way they can afford to have as many mental errors as they did last week and expect to come out of this one with a victory. I certainly don’t expect a repeat of last week’s performance on that front.

As always, we will start a brand new Open Thread at the beginning of each quarter, so keep your eyes pealed for those and be sure to move the discussion along accordingly.
Here’s hoping that in about three hours we can all get together and talk about how great it is to be back to .500. . .yes, again. . .and more importantly to be sitting at 3-0 against the NFC North.
SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
