As he awaits his registration with the first team to make his official Barcelona debut, Roony Bardghji made his first appearance for Barça Atlètic and scored the winning goal as the reserve team beat Lleida in a closed-doors friendly at the club’s training facility on Friday.
Roony was one of five starters in the Barça lineup who played for Hansi Flick in preseason, along with Héctor Fort — who is maintaining his fitness as he awaits a resolution on his future — and the three young Fernández midfielders, cousins Guille and Toni and the exciting ‘Dro’.
According to Mundo Deportivo’s report on the match, Guille and Bardghji were the standout performers for Barça in the game, with Guille getting the opening goal and Roony scoring the winner from the penalty spot early in the second half, with a cheeky Panenka to show off his confidence.
Barça Atlètic will play their fourth and final preseason game against L’Hospitalet next Sunday, and will make their debut in the Fourth Division on September 7 at home to Porreres as Juliano Belleti’s young troops begin their journey back to the third tier.
