The first day of training camp now in the books for the Buckeyes, Ohio State’s 2026 season is officially underway.
Always a highly anticipated start, the coaching staff and players wasted no time getting right to work on Thursday. Ryan Day verbalizing that this roster has all it needs to win at the highest level, all that’s left is just to play the games.
No shortage of marquee matchups this season, Ohio State has one of the tougher schedules ahead of them in all of college football. As a result, these
training camp sessions are sure to ramp up the intensity in the coming days. Fortunately, this group looks ready for the task at hand as they prep for what is hoping to be a memorable 2026 campaign.
On the recruiting front, things are naturally going to slow down at least a little with the priority for this staff being the on-field product, but this program never takes a day off.
Top receiver prospect sets visit plans
Plenty of top home games this fall to host their priority recruits at, Ohio State added one visitor to their guest list for the regular season finale when rival Michigan comes to Columbus.
Making his visit plans known via social media, Ohio State will play host to Georgia native Madoxx Davis in late November. A 5-foot-10, 190 pound athlete, Davis is the No. 23 player nationally and fifth best receiver per the 247Sports Composite in the 2028 class.
Over 40 offers to his name from every major program in the country, Davis making plans to see Ohio State on his own dime this coming fall shows his level of interest, and that feeling is reciprocated by this coaching staff led by Cortez Hankton.
A position group that is seeing a ton of success, Ohio State already having Jett Harrison committed shows the caliber of player the Buckeyes are attracting, and other top names feel the same. Heavily pursuing North Carolina product Braylon Clark and rumored to be his leader as it stands right now, the 2028 receiver haul is likely to be a memorable one, and Davis would only further that sentiment.
Plenty of top players keeping Ohio State at the forefront of their recruitments, having Davis on campus will be a welcomed happening. While they have to wait a while to do so, the communication between he and other top receivers alike is happening on the regular.

Winning a track & field state title this past spring for Big Walnut, Brown coming back to Wayne just north of Dayton is a bit of a surprise considering how recently the first move happened, but the interesting aspect now is his eligibility.
Wayne administration doing what they can to ensure he’s able to play, this is a development worth watching as Brown is one of the top players not just in Ohio, but the country. A senior season is important for his continued growth as a player.
Jamier is practicing as if he’ll be able to play, and that’s what he and the Buckeyes would want to continue getting him ready for the next level.
