According to NFL news breaker Ian Rapaport, Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn is out indefinitely with a torn quad.
Rapaport notes in his tweet that Horn is going to get multiple opinions, but injuries of this severity are almost always multi-month recoveries,
especially if it’s a full tear. If it’s not a complete tear and more of a strain, Horn could avoid surgery and be back before a the end of the season. That said, the way this has been reported does not seem promising.
Horn has established himself as one of the best corners in the game and had started to shake the injury prone label after missing a total of just three games in the two seasons prior to this one. Now he’ll be headed back to injured reserve, and the Panthers will have to try to make do without him. His running mate Mike Jackson is also dealing with a groin injury, so it might get really ugly in the secondary for the next few weeks at least.
