Indiana men’s basketball (8-2, 1-1 Big Ten) is set to take on Chicago State (2-10 [oh no], 0-0 NEC) in its return to action this coming weekend after a week off from basketball.
The Hoosiers’ last outing
was a 72-60 defeat at Kentucky that featured a second half scoring margin straight out of a nightmare. The 3-pointers weren’t falling and Indiana wasn’t strong enough in the frontcourt to get rebounds or decent looks at the rim.
The Cougars are one of the very worst basketball outfits in the country. That didn’t stop them from beating a decent Northwestern team a few years back or an (admittedly horrific) Loyola Chicago group this past Sunday. Chicago State has played a few other high-major games and gotten blown off the court in every one except for….
… Minnesota. Good. Great, even.
Here’s what to know about the game:

Predictions
Chicago State is, by some distance, the worst team Indiana will face this season.
It’s rather notoriously one of the worst programs in the country year in and year out. That’s just kind of the way the wind blows. Didn’t stop the Cougars from the aforementioned Northwestern upset or making things uncomfortable against Minnesota.
Indiana should win. Indiana can, on paper, score at will. Indiana must.
